If you haven't already, get a free 30-day trial license via your My Atlassian account. You can then install GreenHopper via Administration -> Plugins -> Install within your JIRA instance.

Create an Agile Project
Before you can create issues, you need to create a project to contain them. GreenHopper provides presets to create a project for Scrum and Kanban teams:
Select the 'Scrum' or 'Kanban' tab, then follow the on-screen instructions.

Agile Home Page
If you spend all of your time in the Agile tab, you should make it your home page. That will tell JIRA to display the Agile tab after you login instead of the dashboard. Hopefully, this will save you some time and clicks!
To do it, just click on your name in the upper right corner and select 'Agile' from the dropdown.
