JIRA Agile Ninja Training

JIRA Agile Ninja Guide

Every great ninja must start their journey as a young GreenHopper grasshopper. You must learn how to make your tools as quick and agile as your team. If you master all of the tasks in this guide, you will be well-equipped to iterate at lightning speed.

Here's what you need to do to get your Agile White Belt:

  • Check out the Getting Started Section
  • Create a Sample Project
  • Create a Scrum Project and Board
  • Watch the GreenHopper 6 Webinar

Check out the Getting Started Section

Have you taken a look at the Agile Getting Started section? If not, you should! It will help configure the basics so you can complete the rest of this Ninja Guide.

Watch the GreenHopper 6 Webinar

Take an in-depth tour of GreenHopper through the GreenHopper 6 webinar. Nicholas Muldoon, the GreenHopper Marketing Manager, and Shaun Clowes, the GreenHopper Product Manager, cover the results of the 2012 GreenHopper Customer Agile Survey and provide a deep dive for both Scrum and Kanban teams.

Create a Sample Project

The best way to get a feel for GreenHopper is to explore with some example data. To do this, select the "create a sample project" option on the GreenHopper Getting Started page (under the Agile menu).

Create Sample Project

Once you create the sample project you can explore the Plan, Work, and Report modes of a Scrum board. There is already an active sprint and a completed sprint in the sample project. The active sprint is called "Sample Sprint 2".

To see the status of the issues in the active sprint, change to the Work mode. Be sure to take a look at the Report mode to see the Burndown Chart and Velocity Report.

Create Your Own Scrum Project

Now that you have the hang of the three GreenHopper boards, you should create your own scrum project.

  1. Click on the "Agile" dropdown menu.
  2. Select "Getting Started"
  3. Click on "create a new project and board" under the Scrum tab
  4. Name your project and click "Create"

Now you can start creating issues and planning sprints!
